Each year the Massachusetts AFL-CIO holds its signature charity event, the Walk to Cure Cancer, at the UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worchester. This year the registration for the event will begin at 10 AM and the walk will begin at 12 noon on September 23, 2007. This year will mark the 9th annual Massachusetts AFL-CIO Walk to Cure Cancer, which raises money for cancer research at UMASS Memorial’s Massachusetts AFL-CIO Cancer Research Center. »

Take Back Labor DayLabor Day First Ever Walk to Cure Cancer Red Sox Ticket Contest Announcement! This year we are co-opting the true spirit of Labor Day by running a contest tying our “Take Back Labor Day†campaign to our Walk to Cure Cancer. At www.firstgiving.com/wtcc you can create a fundraising website to raise money for this great event. The individual or group that raises the most money online at www.firstgiving.com/wtcc by August 31, 2007 will receive two free Red Sox tickets to see the Red Sox take on the Toronto Blue Jays on Labor Day, September 3, 2007.
