Keller spins self

By Gary Sullivan
Tuesday, March 25, 2008 -

Jon Keller’s Spin-O-Meter criticized Gov. Deval Patrick for being out-politicked (March 23)? Keller needs to make up his mind. He criticizes the governor for not winning the vote on casinos, but as the voters see it, the governor is doing the right thing no matter the politics. We finally have a governor who isn’t governing by political balloons (a point Keller has criticized previous governors for), and still he criticizes. Keller gives credit to Speaker Sal DiMasi for standing up for his beliefs when it was clearly nothing more than “I’m more powerful than you” politics.

If it were about beliefs, why the sudden openness to slots at race tracks? If it were about what is right, then the speaker would be pushing his alternatives. What are his alternatives that won’t take money out of the hands of the individual taxpayer? I thought Keller was supposed to analyze other peoples’ spin, not spin himself!
