Massachusetts AFL-CIO Resolution Recognizing MEBA President Donald Keefe
WHEREAS, Donald Keefe has spent his entire career as a dedicated member of the Merchant Engineers’ Beneficial Association, spending 17 years in the field as a rank-and-file member and earning his Chief Engineer’s License, and then becoming an officer of his local union; and
WHEREAS, Brother Keefe rose through the ranks to become first a representative for MEBA in the ports of Boston and New York, and then assumed the role of Atlantic Coast Vice President; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Keefe’s leadership and determination in protecting the welfare of his fellow union brothers and sisters earned him the honor of becoming President of the International branch of MEBA; therefore be it
RESOLVED that the Massachusetts AFL-CIO congratulates Massachusetts’ own Donald Keefe on his election as President of the Merchant Engineers’ Beneficial Association and expresses its eagerness to work with him on all matters concerning the working families of Massachusetts who earn a living in the merchant trades; and be it finally
RESOLVED that the President of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO will transmit a copy of this resolution and other information to all relevant parties to express the high esteem with which it views Brother Keefe and the confidence the organization has in his continued success in the years to come.
