Labor 2008: Massachusetts/New Hampshire 2008 Coordinated Campaign

Thank you to everyone who attended our last Coordinator's Meeting. The Massachusetts AFL-CIO is well underway in an extensive coordinating effort with the New Hampshire AFL-CIO for the 2008 Elections. There are roughly 10,000 union members who work in Massachusetts, but live and vote in New Hampshire . Considering that John Kerry won New Hampshire in 2004 by only 9,000 votes, this is a significant voting bloc, and we like to think we had something to do with Kerry’s victory.

We’re going to need the same type of efforts this year in New Hampshire to make sure we elect a President and more members of Congress who support Labor. But we also need to help our Brothers and Sisters in New Hampshire hold on to their Democratic Congressional Delegation, and to unseat fervently anti-worker U.S. Senator John Sununu.

We are in the process of finalizing who a list of coordinators for each Massachusetts local with New Hampshire members, but we don’t want to limit it there. We strongly urge you and your members to get involved in our New Hampshire efforts.

For information on how you can get involved, who your local's coordinator is, or if you're a coordinator with questions, please contact Political Director Bob Bower, Political Coordinator Chrissy Long , or Mobilizing Coordinator John Drinkwater at 781-324-8230. Thank you in advance.
