Sheet Metal Workers Local 17 Raises Over $32,000 at Annual Friends For Children Event

Sheet Metal Workers Local 17 will be sending over $32,000 to area charities that benefit children this holiday season, thanks to generous donations gathered through Local 17's annual Friends For Children celebration. More than $12,000 was raised on the night of the event with an additional $10,000 raised by mail and an incredible $10,000 pledge announced by International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators Secretary-Treasurer Bud McCourt. Honored at the event with the Friends for Children Man and Woman of the Year Awards were Mary Joyce Morris, Director of The Boston Guys, and Jamie McCourt of Blue Cross Blue Shield. Receiving the first annual "Friend" for Children Award was Carolyn Rodrigues, Director of the Fitzgerald Community School.
