In Support of the Futures Program
WHEREAS, it is vital that within the Labor Movement we emphasize leadership development of our younger members; and
WHEREAS, a powerful Labor Movement can be built only through recognition and inclusion of the full diversity of the labor force, including workers of all ages; and
WHEREAS, the Massachusetts AFL-CIO is committed to developing our young members into future leaders of the Labor Movement; therefore be it
RESOLVED, that in January 2008 the Massachusetts AFL-CIO will begin its Futures Program, whose mission is to educate young people as to the true scope and purpose of the Labor Movement. This will result in hundreds of young labor leaders who understand the Labor Movement and this State Federation in its entire scope and are prepared to lead each other and the Movement into a new era; and be it finally
RESOLVED, that the President of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO will transmit a copy of this resolution and other information to all relevant parties to demonstrate its ardent support for the Futures Program.
