In Support of the Internship Program
WHEREAS, it is incumbent upon the Massachusetts AFL-CIO to give young, intelligent college students exposure to our organization and the mission we carry out; and
WHEREAS, an effective internship program will give young, intelligent college students exposure to our organization and our mission, and will create lifelong allies of the Labor Movement in the process; and
WHEREAS, current interns have sought out the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, rather than us taking an active role in recruitment; therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Massachusetts AFL-CIO will establish a fully functional and diverse internship program and develop official relationships with nearby colleges so as to make the recruitment process easier and more effective; and be it finally
RESOLVED, that the President of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO will transmit a copy of this resolution and other information to all relevant parties to demonstrate its ardent support for the internship program.
