AFL-CIO Organizing Institute Training

What will participants learn at this training?
One on One Union Organizing Skills, How to Move Workers to Take Action, Leadership ID and Development, Organizing Committees, Analysis of Anti-Union Campaigns, Internal/External Organizing Campaign Techniques

When does the Training Begin/End?
Start time: Friday, Nov. 3 at 10:00 am. End Time: Sunday, Nov. 5 at 12 noon.

What is the fee to sponsor a participant? / What does the fee cover?
The fee to sponsor a member/participant is $150 per participant. Any costs for hotel overnight stays, lost time, parking or participant travel to/from the training, is the responsibility of the sponsoring union.

How do we sponsor participants?
Registration for the training may be completed on the OI website at http://www.AFLCIO.org/OI Registration fees may be paid by credit card through the website. All participants must be pre-registered for the training. No walk-in registrations will be accepted. All fees must be paid by the start of the training, unless other arrangements are made in advance. We are not able to accept personal checks. If paying by check, please make payable to the Secretary Treasurer of the AFL-CIO. All checks should be sent to Camille West-Eversley at 815 16th St., NW Washington, DC 20006.

What happens after we complete online sponsorship forms and submit payment?
Registered participants will receive a training packet (training agenda, training materials and logistics information) several days after registration is submitted.
Hotel accommodations for out of town participants:
It is the responsibility of the sponsoring union to book hotel accommodations for their participants. There are several union hotels in the area. The closest union represented hotels to the training location are the Courtyard by Marriott Boston South and the Hampton Inn and Suites Boston Crosstown Center.
