Somerville Stands Together has made our voices heard on the streets, at City Hall, and at the Massachusetts State House! We are fighting for: affordable housing, good jobs, responsible development, and a Somerville that works for all of us.  And we are growing into a movement to be reckoned with!

What: Rally and march
Who: Somerville residents and workers, political and union representatives
Where: Union Square
When: Monday, October 22nd @ 4pm

We are asking all stakeholders to support a meaningful Community Benefits Agreement. Join Somerville Stands Together on Oct 22nd, to ask local elected officials to commit to:

  • Affordable housing, built sooner, to safeguard residents from further displacement
  • A union Project Labor Agreement (PLA) with US2 to ensure jobs for local residents, high standards for safety and training, and career pathways for workers
  • New neighborhood parks and sustainable ‘green’ building practices
  • Empowering members of the community and increasing economic opportunity
  • Allowing employees of new businesses in Union Square to have free and fair elections for collective bargaining. City of Somerville tax dollars should not support developments that don't pay living wages and respect workers' rights.
