Francisco Brea was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States when he was 22. As a young man Francisco worked in the textile industry where he quickly became involved in his workplace’s union. In 1984 he became the first Latino to be elected to the Executive Board of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union Local 187 (ACTWU).

Francisco has been with the Massachusetts AFL-CIO working as a Rapid Response Specialist since 1997. Francisco has spent his professional career helping families through tough times and giving them the resources they need to in their time of crisis. 

Francisco lives in Lawrence with his wife of 35 years. He is blessed to have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
