The Massachusetts Democratic Party will be holding its State Convention on Friday June 1st and Saturday June 2nd at the DCU Center in Worcester. It is important to have a strong labor presence at this Convention that will nominate Democratic candidates for statewide office.

Interested? Please take the following steps:

1. You must be a registered Democrat by January 31, 2018 to be eligible.

2. Show up at your Town/City’s Caucus. Caucuses are being held between February 3rd and March 4th. The dates, times and locations of each community’s Caucus will be listed in your local paper, and online at https://massdems.org/convention/2018-caucus-dates/.

  • You can call your town’s Democratic Town Committee Chair for more information about your town. That information should be listed with the caucus date. To see how many delegates and alternates your town will be electing, visit https://massdems.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/2018_DelAllocation_Final-2.pdf.
  • Visit https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeMRcFO_VG86hEpkLrTLhetPaZS3yxKOBaJ5Nxx_vTqMwhJ8w/viewform to run as a Youth, Minority, LGBT, or Disabled Add-On Delegate.
  • Please be sure to contact the Massachusetts AFL-CIO and your local union if you would like to run so that the Massachusetts AFL-CIO can help you get elected.
  • If you live in a politically active city, we advise you to bring at least three other registered Democrats from your city so they can vote for you.

3. Once you are elected as a delegate or alternate to the 2018 Democratic State Committee Convention, the Massachusetts AFL-CIO will work with you to ensure that the Massachusetts Labor Movement is a powerful force at this year’s convention and that you know of labor’s events there.
